Preservation of your privacy is important to the Education Media Centre (EMC) and we are committed to letting you know how we use your personal information and to making only responsible use of your data.
1. Information about you
1.1 We will collect personal information from you when you or your organisation:
- enquire about our activities,
- when you agree to work with us,
- when you register with us to receive updates or
- when you subscribe to one of our services.
The information we collect may include your name, title, email address, physical address, telephone numbers and job title and may include additional publically available information. For academics we may also hold biographical details of your career or area of expertise and research.
We may also ask for some additional, non-personal information, if this is necessary for the work we intend to do with or for you.
1.2 We will update the information we collect about you every two years.
2. Our use of this information
2.1 Your personal information will only be used to process your requests, to provide you with our services, and to provide you with information relating to our services
2.2 We will not share your information with other organisations, unless you ask us to. For example, in relation to the payment of invoices, or, if you are willing to talk to a journalist on a breaking news story, in each instance, we will always confirm with you before passing on your contact details.
2.3 We use a third party provider, Mailchimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around mail opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor usage. For more information please see Mailchimp’s Privacy Notice. https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/
3.1 We will take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of information you give us.
3.2 Communications in connection with EMC’s services may be sent by e-mail. For ease of use and compatibility, communications (other than payments where applicable) will not be sent in an encrypted form. E-mail unless encrypted is not a fully secure means of communication. Whilst we endeavour to keep our systems and communications protected against viruses and other harmful effects we cannot bear responsibility for all communications being virus-free.

4.1 If you would like us to correct or update any information, or if you would like information deleted from our records, then please email us at email@example.com
4.2 On request we will supply details of all data the Education Media Centre has compiled about you.
